Gyan Ganga Project on Mental Retardation

After successful completion of orientation- cum-training program for the community workers and surveyors, survey work in two of the areas have started and is being conducted smoothly. Two of the community women have been trained to assist the surveyors during the survey. These women will assist during follow up, home visits, counseling and guidance sessions as well. They are well groomed now and have become confident enough to conduct such sessions. A change worth mentioning here is that outlook of the women who participate in such surveys has changed drastically. They look more like career women when they move in the area for survey and other project related works.
